PAGE 1 • DUTY STATUS

Driving — Automatic ELD Status

You normally do not need to press Driving. BASIC ELD watches truck speed. When the truck begins moving above the driving threshold, the duty status changes to DRIVING automatically and the driving clock begins counting.

What the driver does

Important: Moving the truck while Sleeper or Off Duty ends that rest status and returns the ELD to Driving.

What gets recorded

Driving time, shift time, break timing, HOS limits, duty-history entries, and the current ATS trip all remain connected to the same driver record.
